Jamie Clark is a healing angel organizing superhuman. Being evicted in February was wildly uncomfortable. And more painful than I even realized in the moment. Having a home base that was affordable and comfortable helped me stay grounded and at ease in a shifting city. It also helped me to accumulate so. much. stuff. Stuff from years with a live-in partner and the jumpstarting of my own business. Stuff I had dragged along from apartment to apartment. When I met Jamie, I had no idea where I'd lay my head to rest next (UPDATE: in a lovely 1 bedroom in the mission!), so I knew I had to purge. But I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Memories were hiding everywhere. Hiding in closets, garages, and bureaus. Taking up space. Space I knew I wanted but was scared to clear out.
Jamie is a pro with emotions, organizing, knowing when you've hit your limit (decision fatigue is for real), and how to get you out of a storage unit in no time. She's one part professional organizer and one part minimalist guru. She's also a really good stand-in therapist, cheerleader, and stern disciplinarian. She'll keep you on task, all while holding space for your own unique process of letting go. And she does it with ease, love, and humor. She believes that having just what you need makes room to really enjoy the things in your life that are important to you or to welcome in what's next.
Without her help, I think I'd still be lying crumpled in a corner of my old apartment obsessing over some letter from 1999. Thank you, Jamie.
